Job summary

Terracon in Midvale, UT is seeking a motivated field technician to perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel on construction sites.

You will collect samples, prepare data and reports for the project manager, follow safety protocols, and help maintain equipment and scheduling as needed. This is an entry-level role under supervision, with opportunities to learn testing procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license may be required based on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Prepare, tabulate, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily submittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas; assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
• Follow safety standards and pre-task planning; report safety issues to management.
• Communicate findings and data accuracy to Project Manager and discuss data for submittal.
