Job summary

Applied Technical Services, LLC in Marietta, GA seeks a Materials Testing Engineer II to independently perform hands-on testing in our Marietta Super Lab, planning and executing load, hydrostatic pressure, and lifecycle tests on diverse components.

You will develop custom test methods, design fixtures, integrate data-acquisition systems, analyze results, and prepare clear technical conclusions. The role also supports project planning, customer communication, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of engineering or testing experience.
• Experience with load, hydrostatic, or lifecycle testing preferred.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently interpret requirements and develop testing procedures
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot custom test scripts and data-acquisition routines
• Design, build, and validate custom test rigs and fixtures
• Follow, promote, and help improve laboratory safety procedures
• Prepare and review work orders per project requirements
• Plan and execute test programs with limited supervision
• Analyze results, communicate findings to customers and internal stakeholders
• Generate technical reports and peer-review work as assigned
• Coordinate project resources and equipment readiness
