Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Materials Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of our laboratories across Element, the technician must be proficient in core business skills, including compliance with safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary: $20- $25/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical sectioning, mounting, polishing, and routine evaluations.
• Conduct evaluations such as grain size, coating thickness, machining artifacts, and hardness.
• Work independently periodically throughout the day with supervision.
• Understand daily tasks and complete them properly and promptly without needing constant supervision.
• Read and interpret customer specifications and perform required testing.
• Set up and perform various tests according to customer specifications under supervision and technical guidance.
• Experience with tensile, hardness, or other mechanical testing is a plus.

Skills / Qualifications

• Ability to work independently periodically throughout the day with supervision.
• Ability to understand and complete daily tasks properly and timely without constant oversight.
• Capability to read and understand customer specifications and perform testing accordingly.
• Proven ability to set up and perform a variety of tests under supervision.
• Must be a US Citizen.
