Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Materials Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element, the technician must be proficient in core business skills including safety compliance, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary: $20- $25/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical sectioning, mounting, polishing, and routine evaluations
• Conduct evaluations such as grain size, coating thickness, machining artifacts, and hardness
• Work independently periodically throughout the workday with supervision
• Understand daily tasks and complete them properly and timely without needing constant supervision
• Read and understand customer specifications and perform required testing
• Set up and perform various tests according to customer specifications under supervision and technical guidance of senior staff
• Experience with tensile, hardness, or other mechanical testing is a plus

Skills / Qualifications

• Ability to work independently periodically throughout the day with supervision
• Ability to understand and complete daily tasks properly and timely without constant guidance
• Read and interpret customer specifications and perform testing accordingly
• Proven ability to set up and perform tests per customer requirements under supervision
• Must be a US citizen
