Primoris Energy Services in Sherman, TX, is seeking a Materials Technician I to assist with receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment on construction projects, ensuring accuracy and safety compliance.

You will help organize inventory, operate forklifts, and prepare materials for distribution, while maintaining a safe work environment and reporting discrepancies promptly. This role offers growth within a respected energy services contractor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in materials handling or warehouse environment preferred.
• Ability to read basic blueprints or material lists is a plus.
• Forklift operation experience with certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming materials and equipment, verifying against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and accessibility.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist in preparing materials and equipment for distribution to various work areas on site.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas and equipment.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
• Report any damaged or defective materials to supervision promptly.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members, project managers, and vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager or Project Superintendent.
