Job summary

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Lead Materials Technician in Sherman, TX to oversee materials handling, inventory control, and logistics support for projects. You will lead a team, manage receiving, storage, and issuance, and ensure accurate inventory with ERP systems.

The role requires 5+ years in materials management with at least 2 years in a lead role, forklift certification, and strong collaboration with project managers and procurement. A valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management, warehousing, or inventory control, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.
• Forklift operation certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and material specifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of materials technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Manage material receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance according to company procedures and project schedules.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular physical inventories to reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials.
• Operate and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols related to materials handling and warehouse operations.
• Prepare and process shipping and receiving documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, transfer forms).
• Identify and report damaged or defective materials and assist in issue resolution.
• Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions for efficiency.
• Assist in developing material control strategies and best practices.
