Job summary

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth is seeking a Materials Technician to support warehouse and storeroom operations. The role requires basic computer skills, strong communication, and dependable time management to ensure accurate receiving, stocking, and delivery of supplies in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The candidate should have at least a high school diploma and one year of materials management or customer service experience.

Qualifications

• One year of materials management experience preferred.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Performs warehouse/storeroom tasks including receiving, stocking, filing of delivery paperwork.
• Ensures items are received into the appropriate system.
• Stocks shelves daily and delivers non-stock items promptly.
• Maintains daily inventory orders and backorder releases.
• Counts par-level areas and refills.
• Assists with returns to vendor and shipment of repairs.
• Delivers items the same day the order arrives.
• Addresses overnight/expedite requests quickly.
• Customer service: answers phones, assists departments with questions.
• Works with clinical areas on par levels and routine supply issues.
• Documents supplies requested as walk-ins and logs patient ID if chargeable.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Skills

Ability to meet time standards required by position. Basic computer, reading and writing skills. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to handle moderately difficult requests by performing necessary research.

Position Responsibilities

Performs various Warehouse/Storeroom tasks including, receiving, stocking, filing of delivery paperwork/documents, including but not limited to:

• Appropriate goods and/or services are accurately received into appropriate system.
• Shelves/inventory items are stocked daily with incoming goods.
• Non-stock items are delivered on a timely basis to the requesting department.
• Daily inventory orders and backorder releases are pulled and delivered to the requesting department.
• Daily par-level areas are counted and refilled.
• Assists with returning items to the vendor and with the shipment of repairs, etc.
• Deliver items on the same day the order arrives.
• All overnight or expedited requests are accounted for and delivered to the requesting area as quickly as possible.
• Customer Service:
• Answers the phone, returns calls, pagers and assists departments with questions, concerns and special requests.
• Works with clinical areas to review par levels or other routine supply issues.
• Documents any supplies that are requested and issued as ‘walk-ins’ including logging the patient ID if chargeable.
• Performs other job duties as assigned by management.
