Cosma International, part of Magna International, Inc., is seeking a Materials and Logistics Supervisor in Michigan to coordinate daily materials and logistics, track shipments, and lead a shift of associates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes lean methods, safety, quality familiarity, and strong data analysis. You will train staff, uphold 5S and TPM standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring timely, accurate operations.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Materials, Logistics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years Materials and/or Logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience in a leader/supervisory role.
• Experience shipping to OEM.
• Ability to operate a forklift and tugger safely.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving methods.
• Basic OSHA and safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Understands basic automotive quality terms.
• Practical experience with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Good math skills and the ability to analyze data.
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variable workload (flexible hours).
• Ability to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgement.
• Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily materials and logistics activities of job assignments.
• Ensures container receipts and shipments are tracked and entered into proper systems.
• Ensures timely unloading/loading of trailers and that window times are met.
• Holds daily pre-shift meetings to inform Materials and Logistics Associates of changes and daily requirements.
• Ensures TPM/Daily Care activities and safety checks are completed properly.
• Prepares for shift start with necessary PPE and materials.
• Trains new associates on standardized work processes.
• Ensures employees are trained and authorized to operate machinery; enforces 5S procedures.
• Performs Layered Process Audits and resolves non-conformances.
• Follows Quality Alert System and participates in problem solving to resolve issues.
• Disposes non-conforming product and places it in designated areas.
• Responds quickly to issues and leads quick resolutions.
• Monitors data boards to ensure KPI targets are met.
• Addresses underperformance with urgency and provides guidance and coaching.
• Applies PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) to achieve permanent corrective actions.
• Supports Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping activities.
• Completes administrative duties on time and accurately.
• Reports non-conformances to leadership and supports corrective actions.
• Conducts performance reviews and builds teamwork.
• Participates in Return-to-Work programs and adheres to safety requirements.
• Monitors return-to-work progress and ensures safe operations.
• Ensures suppliers perform work safely.
• Attends departmental and plant-wide meetings and training.
• Complies with CBAM procedures and ISO/OSH programs.
• Follows safety procedures and conducts themselves professionally.
• Develops peer relationships and keeps area clean and organized.
• Other duties as required.
