Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Materials Coordinator to support the Materials Manager on the production floor, ensuring accurate material flow, inventory integrity, and timely delivery of components to meet production schedules.

The role emphasizes cycle counting, ERP transactions (JD Edwards), cross-functional coordination with manufacturing, planning, warehouse, and quality teams, and Lean process improvements to reduce inventory levels and improve line-side efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associates/bachelor's preferred.
  • Minimum five years in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics.
  • Ability to influence team performance toward production targets.
  • Experience with cycle counting, inventory audits, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate material availability, staging, and delivery to support uninterrupted production and minimize downtime.
  • Promote inventory accuracy by supporting material movements, ERP transactions, and work order processes (backflushing, transfers, scrap, and completions).
  • Assist in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis while supporting cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit activities.
  • Leverage material usage trends and production demand insights to help optimize stocking strategies and align inventory levels with production plans.
  • Reinforce proper material handling, storage practices, FIFO practices, and compliance with GMP, GDP, and traceability requirements.
  • Serve as a cross-functional point of coordination between materials, production, planning, warehouse, and quality teams to ensure alignment and material readiness.
  • Support the training and development of the Materials team, fostering accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to process improvement and Lean initiatives to enhance material flow, reduce inventory levels, improve space utilization, and enhance line-side efficiency.
