Job summary

Magna Seating is seeking a Materials Supervisor to lead the day-to-day activities of the Materials department at our Detroit-area facility. You will supervise Team Leaders, Sequencer/Tuggers, and Forklift Drivers to ensure smooth inbound and outbound material flow in a Just-In-Time environment.

The role requires 2+ years in materials supervision or 5+ years in materials leadership within a tier-one automotive setting, along with strong communication, problem-solving, and OSHA knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Powered Industrial Truck Permit (requires passing tests).
• Minimum of two years of materials supervisory experience or five years leading a materials team in a tier-one automotive facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of Materials department's Team Leaders, Sequencer/Tuggers, and Forklift Truck Drivers.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates inbound/outbound material movement within the JIT facility.
• Manages manpower requirements and material cycle counts; supports annual inventory reconciliation.
• Leads process improvement projects focusing on productivity, quality, ergonomics.
• Ensures adherence to standardized work processes, safety rules, and attendance policies.
• Provides timely feedback on performance and completes scheduled reviews.
