Job summary

Crystal Clean LLC in Little Rock seeks a Materials Supervisor to oversee daily plant operations, supervise Operators, and drive safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate workflow, monitor process controls, ensure regulatory compliance, lead continuous improvement initiatives with Facility Manager and engineering teams, and maintain accurate logs and reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s/technical degree preferred.
• 3-5 years in chemical, environmental services, or industrial processing environment.
• 1+ year in a supervisory or lead operator capacity preferred.
• Proven leadership in an industrial or process-driven setting.
• Strong detail orientation and proactive problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Plant Operators and support staff.
• Oversee daily plant operations, process control, equipment monitoring, and SOP compliance.
• Ensure equipment inspections are performed and documented.
• Coordinate maintenance and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and maintain compliance logs.
• Drive continuous improvement with data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
• Maintain logs and documentation for process tracking and regulatory compliance.
• Promote housekeeping and 5S standards across the facility.

Purpose:

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations and personnel to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient processing. This leadership role includes supervising operators, coordinating workflow, optimizing processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the Facility Manager in meeting production targets. The Supervisor must lead by example, promoting a strong safety culture while supporting continuous improvement and employee development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership & Oversight:

• Lead and supervise a team of Plant Operators and support staff to ensure all work is conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Operations Management:

• Oversee daily plant operations, including process control, equipment monitoring, and compliance with all operating procedures.
• Ensure equipment inspections are performed and documented correctly.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities in alignment with production goals; ensure proper Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures are followed.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
• Maintain compliance documentation.
• Identify and address any variances, equipment malfunctions, or environmental releases promptly and thoroughly.

Continuous Improvement:

• Analyze operational data to identify process inefficiencies or opportunities for cost savings and improved output.
• Collaborate with the Facility Manager and engineering teams to implement operational improvements.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation for process tracking and regulatory compliance.
• Drive housekeeping and 5S standards across the facility.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Proven leadership experience in an industrial or process-driven environment.
• Strong mechanical and mathematical reasoning abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of rotating equipment, bulk liquid transfers, boilers, cooling towers, and process utilities.
• High attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with CMMS or SCADA systems a plus.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or technical degree in Industrial Technology, Process Operations, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a chemical, environmental services, or industrial processing environment.
• 1+ year in a supervisory or lead operator capacity preferred.

Work Environment & PPE Requirements:

• Must wear required PPE at all times, including steel toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and respirator when necessary.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in outdoor and industrial environments.

Hourly pay range:$30.41-$39.22
