Job summary

Philips Automotive Recruiting is seeking a Materials Supervisor with automotive manufacturing experience to oversee inventory control, material flow, and FIFO procedures on the production floor. The role emphasizes safety training, timely expediting of incoming materials, and coordination with suppliers and carriers to maintain uninterrupted production.

The ideal candidate will monitor and report inventory metrics, implement visual management systems, and ensure compliance with company policies

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have manufacturing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must have recent experience in an Automotive Manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report receipts, production, scrap and other inventory-related data on the computer to maintain inventory levels of production materials.
  • Ensure proper warehousing practices and material flow to support production requirements while maintaining quality.
  • Include proper FIFO inventory rotation.
  • Help coordinate flow of materials or products.
  • Monitor scheduling of incoming production material.
  • Assist with cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory accountability.
  • Assist with expediting incoming material as required.
  • Enforce safety compliance by ensuring proper training in OSHA regulations.
  • Follow safety regulations and enforce compliance with company safety rules and procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and enforce them among workers.
  • Monitor suppliers and carriers to ensure delivery schedules are met and rectify errors promptly.
  • Arrange for and follow up on special pickups and deliveries.
  • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
  • Develop and implement visual inventory management systems on the production floor.
  • Assist as required in resolving disposition of substandard or rejected materials.
  • Ensure supplies are delivered on time to provide uninterrupted production and shipment of finished goods.
  • Utilize and practice methods of continuous improvement.
  • Comply with all Company Safety policies, procedures and rules.

MATERIALS SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting of receipts, production, scrap and other inventory-related data on the computer to accurately maintain inventory levels of production material.
  • Ensures proper warehousing practices and material flow to support production requirements while maintaining quality.
  • These practices include proper FIFO inventory rotation.
  • Helps coordinates flow of materials or products.
  • Responsible for monitoring the scheduling of incoming production material.
  • Assist with cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory accountability
  • Responsible for expediting incoming material as required.
  • Enforces safety compliance by ensuring the proper training is given in OSHA mandated regulations.
  • Follows safety regulations and enforces compliance with company safety rules and regulations.
  • Understands and complies with all company policies and procedures, and enforces workers to follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Monitors suppliers and commercial carriers to ensure that delivery schedules are consistently met and any error rectified on a timely basis.
  • Arranges for and follows up on special pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
  • Develops and implements visual inventory management systems on the production floor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
