Job summary

Nucor Plate Group in Cofield, NC is seeking a Material Specialist with a focus on supplier quality. You will ensure safety standards, coordinate with plate group divisions and suppliers, and bridge gaps between commercial, quality, and operations around supplier requirements.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree and have 3+ years in supplier quality, with legal work authorization in the United States. The role may involve initial specialization in Armor and potential expansion to wind/API

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• 3+ years in supplier quality.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Nucor Plate Group will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.
• Due to federal security requirements applicable to this role, only U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents are eligible for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Identify what is needed from Plate Group Divisions to be supplier approved.
• Own coordination between divisions and suppliers to help with smooth communication and execution.
• Bridge commercial, quality, and operations gaps around supplier requirements.
• Specialize in Armor initially but could expand to other plate group supplier approvals such as wind and API.
