Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is seeking a Materials Specialist to manage mail and related logistics at our Houston headquarters. You will sort, process, weigh, stamp, and route mail and packages, maintain delivery schedules, and provide front-desk support for mail services.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, 3–5 years in customer service or operations, and strong computer literacy (MS Word/Excel/Project/Outlook).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of customer service, operations, or related experience.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for efficient receipt and delivery of agency mail and equipment.
• Sort and organize mail and equipment for daily pick-up and delivery.
• Weigh parcels to determine postage and operate mail processing equipment.
• Check item addresses and route mis-addressed items accordingly.
• Maintain delivery schedules and prioritize distribution.
• Provide over-the-counter service to walk-in customers.
