Job description
The Mail Clerk is responsible for the daily mail room duties to include warehouse deliveries and retrievals and inventory of office goods.
Essential Functions
Demonstrates basic knowledge of mail room duties, office procedures and policies.
Must meet productivity standards of current Office Services Employee Performance Standards.
Ensures all mail, inter-office correspondence and packages reach their intended recipient on time and in good condition.
Performs all mail room functions utilizing excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work in a timely manner.
Collects, sorts, and delivers incoming and outgoing mail, interoffice communications, and packages for various departments and entities on multiple floors.
Prepares outgoing mail/parcels, chooses best method of guaranteed delivery in the required time frame. Is familiar with tracking and various types of deliveries to ensure the most efficient way to ship articles.
Documents incoming packages, including their return address and description.
Corrects and re-forwards misdirected mail.
Maintains and audits inventory of paper supplies for multiple departments and orders accordingly. Completes paper stocking for output devices.
Observes document destruction protocols including shred bin delivery and pick-up.
Prepares specific warehouse deliveries and retrievals which includes logging of inbound and outbound boxes of archived documents.
Must be prompt and dependable. Arrival time should provide adequate time so that the employee is at their station or performing their duties at 8 am and is able to complete their day’s assignments by 5 pm.
Ability to work in a team environment for the success of the entire department.
Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and productive when handling urgent mail or working through time sensitive mailing issues involving postage fee assessments, package tracking and addressing errors.

Required to be onsite a minimum of 5 days per week.

Must present a professional office appearance. Due to the level of physical activity, comfortable clothing and footwear are important; however professional representation of the company is critical. No brightly colored or distracting apparel is to be worn. Company shirts with a logo may be provided.
Ability to reach, bend, push, pull and perform repetitive movements. Must be able to frequently move around office and sit for prolonged periods working on computer. Must be able to regularly lift up to 20 lbs. and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
