Job summary

Nucor Plate Group is seeking qualified applications for the posting of Material Specialist. Principal duties include safety leadership, coordinating supplier approvals, and bridging gaps between divisions and suppliers to ensure smooth execution.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 3 years in supplier quality, and legal work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Identify what is needed from Plate Group Divisions to be supplier approved.
• Own coordination between divisions and suppliers to help with smooth communication and execution.
• Bridge commercial, quality, and operations gaps around supplier requirements.
• Specialize in Armor initially but could expand to other plate group supplier approvals such as wind and API.

Education
