Nucor Corporation’s Nucor Steel Lexington division in Lexington, NC, is seeking a Safety & Health Coordinator to support and improve the safety and health of all teammates. You will adhere to safety programs, support compliance with OSHA and state regulations, and work across departments on safety projects.

Key responsibilities include coordinating division safety training, maintaining safety data dashboards, conducting field observations, and assisting with incident analyses and emergency

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to gain & maintain Emergency Medical Responder Certification.
• Ability to gain & maintain Mental Health First Aid Certification.

• Coordinate, schedule, and deliver division safety training and culture-building activities.

• Assist in incident analysis and root cause investigations.
• Coordinate contractor safety program requirements and monitor performance.
• Analyze compliance, inspections and auditing of safety efforts.
• Plan and coordinate division activities, events, and safety dashboards.

Basic Job Functions

The Safety & Health Coordinator will provide professional support to improve and sustain the safety & health of all teammates.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Must adhere to Nucor's safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor's vision and values.
• Support division safety performance, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations, including OSHA.
• Support division with all aspects of field/shop safety teams & programs.
• Collaborate across departments on safety projects, initiatives, and analysis.
• Maintain and report safety data - KPI statistics, training, compliance records, confidential records, safety management system, etc.
• Being available to address/participate in on-call and/or after-hours onsite safety needs.
• Assisting in and/or overseeing incident analysis & root cause analysis program.
• Assisting in coordination of contractor safety program, requirements, and monitor performance.
• Coordinating, scheduling, tracking, updating, and/or delivering division safety training & culture-building activities to include onboarding & annual training.
• Analyzing compliance, inspections, and auditing safety efforts.
• Developing, maintaining, evaluating job safety analysis/procedures.
• Performing routine/frequent field observations.
• Coordinating of onsite Emergency Response program & routine audits.
• Communicating safety information (flyers, alerts, presentations, etc.).
• Assisting with planning and coordinating division activities and events.
• Maintaining department webpage, dashboards, online safety platforms.
• Participating & leading division in regional & product group safety initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned by Health & Safety Director.

Minimum Qualifications
