AAM is hiring a Team Lead – Materials/Shipping to oversee shipping operations across three shifts, focusing on accurate picking, proper storage, and on‑time shipment of finished goods.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity, with responsibility for coordinating with scheduling, monitoring KPIs, and driving continuous improvement to reduce waste and bottlenecks. Candidate should have automotive manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in an operational role within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
• Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure efficient shipping processes across shifts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to provide clear instructions.
• Experience with inventory management systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
• Ability to work effectively across all three shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient shipping operations.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of the shipping process and accurate picking of finished goods.
• Coordinate with scheduling to plan and execute shipments per customer requirements.
• Ensure safety standards are followed and report unsafe conditions.
• Monitor KPIs such as shipping accuracy, on‑time delivery, and productivity.
• Facilitate return of empty containers, per procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement to optimize shipping and reduce waste.
• Identify bottlenecks and resolve issues to maintain operations.
• Generate regular performance reports on shipping processes.
• Support development and refinement of work instructions for material handling and shipping tasks.
• Collaborate with the Material Handling Process Supervisor and Site Lead to align objectives.
• Assist in space analysis and shipping load calculations to optimize storage and operations.
