Job summary

Pegasus Industries is seeking a Materials Scientist based in Los Angeles with a background in metallurgy or metallization to support materials development, process evaluation, and customer qualification. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Laboratory or industrial experience in metallurgy, metallization, or materials processing.
• Understanding of processing, composition, microstructure, and material properties.
• Hands-on material characterization and testing experience.
• Ability to design experiments, interpret results, and troubleshoot problems.
• Strong technical writing and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into material specifications, testing plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate material composition, microstructure, properties, and performance.
• Develop or improve metallurgical or metallization processes.
• Design and conduct experiments to assess process feasibility and material quality.
• Investigate defects and process variability; recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with suppliers, laboratories, and manufacturing partners.
• Support material qualification, testing, and customer technical reviews.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain traceability of samples and results.
• Maintain accurate experimental records.
