Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Permanent Metallurgist to join our manufacturing team in California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgical manufacturing, experience with testing methods, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or related field required; Master's/PhD preferred.
Minimum 5 years' experience in metallurgical manufacturing, ideally in a similar industry.
Strong knowledge of metallurgical testing methods and procedures.
Experience with failure analysis and root cause analysis.
Excellent problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills.
Clear written and verbal communication; ability to present complex information.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed metallurgical analysis and testing on metals to ensure standards.
Develop and implement metallurgical procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
Collaborate with production to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes.
Conduct failure analyses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
Assist in material selection for new product development and advise on properties.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory standards, and technology.
