Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 4 years of related experience, typically with post-doctoral research experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct mechanical and micromechanical experiments to study deformation, damage, and fracture.
  • Characterize microstructure and strain localization using advanced imaging and analysis techniques.
  • Develop, calibrate, and verify constitutive and fracture models for structural and energetic materials.
  • Develop and maintain finite element software for parallel simulations on CPU/GPU platforms.
  • Perform high-performance simulations for homogenization, uncertainty quantification, and multi-material response.
  • Publish results and present findings to multidisciplinary teams and program deliverables.
