Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to support production by coordinating material flow and handling tasks. You will move materials between departments, print and process tickets, and assist during peak periods with equipment operation and computer transactions.

The role requires basic math, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team. A high school diploma is required, and forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
• Forklift Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates material movement between departments per routing requirements.
• Sorts questionable materials per Quality Control's request.
• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
• Organizes sequence of pulling material and relays information to Material Support.
• Ensures production schedules are met by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods; assists during peak times to operate material handling equipment and perform computer transactions.
• Ensures good communication and feedback with management, employees on their shift, and between shifts.
• Assists the supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, training needs and interviewing/hiring when assigned.
• Monitors and enforces shop floor control systems.
• Utilize crane to move material.
• Follows all safety procedures, wears proper PPE, and proactively identifies and corrects unsafe conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.
