Job description

Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services, this position is responsible for conducting the mixing and testing of experimental polymeric compound formulations. This work is conducted under the direction of Polymer Engineers and industry/customer specifications, following internal procedures.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe laboratory environment by complying with safety rules and procedures.
• Perform polymeric compound mixing and test sample preparation.
• Perform physical, chemical, and electrical property testing on compound samples.
• Perform physical, chemical, and electrical property testing on cable samples.
• Maintain records and issue reports on test results generated.
• Participate in ITC Tech Service activities such as facility and equipment maintenance, housekeeping, safety audits, etc.
• Occasionally lift manually up to 50 pounds.
• Lift and carry various tools, materials, and containers, usually small to moderate in size.
• Use manual material handling equipment such as dollies, carts, and pallet jacks to move heavy loads short distances.
