Job summary
Supersede in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Materials Quality Engineer for Testing & Product Development. You will lead material testing, establish quality systems, and support new product development while traveling to the Indiana facility for commissioning and audits.
The ideal candidate has a strong plastics background, hands-on testing experience, and will collaborate with R&D, extrusion, and production to ensure product performance and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or polymer discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in materials testing, product development, or quality engineering.
- Hands-on plastic testing: tensile, flexural, impact, hardness, melt flow.
- Experience with DOE and statistical analysis; strong documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% between Phoenix, AZ and Elkhart, IN.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement testing procedures for plastic materials to standards.
- Maintain the quality laboratory and calibration programs.
- Analyze results to support qualification, validation, and product development.
- Lead certification and compliance projects (ISO, ICC, USCG).
- Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and cross-functional projects.
