Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Materials Engineer – Product Development to advance products using advanced materials, including thermoplastics, thermosets, composites, coatings, and metallic alloys. You will work from concept to production, gaining hands-on experience in polymer processing, plastic part design, materials development, testing, and failure analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Materials, Polymer, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with plastics, polymers, materials, product design, or plastics processing.
• Knowledge of thermoplastic and thermoset materials, testing, and failure analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• FEA experience with Abaqus or ANSYS is a plus.
• Moldflow Insight experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel globally up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate new products, materials, and components.
• Support product design from concept through commercialization and production.
• Develop polymer formulations and evaluate material performance.
• Coordinate prototyping, testing, validation, and pilot production.
• Conduct and interpret thermal, mechanical, and chemical testing, including FTIR, DMA, DSC, TGA, and tensile testing.
• Troubleshoot design, material, tolerance, and manufacturing issues.
• Participate in supplier selection, tooling, and cost evaluations.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional design reviews.
• Prepare technical documentation and provide product training.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and suppliers.
