Rhone Apparel, Inc. in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Manager of Materials and Product Compliance to drive fabric development from concept through bulk commercialization and to lead the company’s product compliance program across markets.

The role requires strong textile knowledge, disciplined project management, and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions. Hybrid work and cross-functional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a textiles/materials field or related discipline.
• 5–8 years in apparel materials, textile development, or product compliance.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, fibers, yarns and fabric construction.
• Experience with restricted-substance requirements and labeling compliance.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead fabric development from concept to bulk commercialization.
• Translate design goals into technical briefs for mills and suppliers.
• Manage material development plans, testing, wearer trials and approvals.
• Oversee material costing, lead-time planning and supplier allocation.
• Maintain compliance records and documentation for product release.
• Coordinate with labs and suppliers on testing protocols and results.
• Ensure environmental and social considerations in material decisions.
