About the Role

We are seeking a Materials & Processes Systems Lead to join our team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will advise on materials and processes for space environments, review hardware and analysis, and ensure compliance with spaceflight requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Advise on materials selection, process control, and qualification for space hardware.
2. Review and develop hardware, analysis, and testing procedures.
3. Present to program boards and integrate M&P requirements into hardware design.
4. Review documentation and specifications to ensure compliance.
5. Assess vendor processes and provide qualification recommendations.
6. Support manufacturing processes for human spaceflight systems.
7. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Metallurgy, Materials Science, Aerospace, etc.).
• 7+ years of related experience in Materials and Processes.
• Knowledge of materials for space applications, including selection and failure analysis.
• Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specifications.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in spacecraft materials and processes.
• Experience with human spaceflight systems and team leadership.
