Salary Range: $65000.00 - $75000.00 Salary
Job Shift: First Shift: 8AM-4PM
Description

The Materials Process Engineer supports the development and improvement of products, processes, and equipment interaction with materials. This is a hands-on position in a dynamic manufacturing and engineering environment where critical support of the Production, Maintenance, and Quality departments is vital to operations.

JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and improve manufacturing operations for the processing of non-Newtonian, pliable materials and modeling compounds by working to identify and solve manufacturing issues
  • Understand and apply fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures as they pertain to the optimization of production and manufacturing
  • Develop and execute test methods in support of problem-solving activities and resolution
  • Create and maintain production metrics to develop corrective actions and process improvements
  • Perform materials testing to develop new and existing formulas to meet quality parameters
  • Lead and coordinate improvements to existing processes and machinery
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to manufacturing processes
  • Work alongside Production, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to optimize operational performance
  • Assist with the implementation of new products, processes, and machinery
  • Maintain and write detailed procedures for the operation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously, independently track progress, and follow-up on assigned tasks
  • Communicate progress and issues appropriately via formal and informal methods.
  • Pivot priorities as the needs of the business dictate to fulfill company production goals
  • Other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering environment required
  • SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Mechanical Desktop or Inventor experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in data analysis and statistical tools
  • Good knowledge of Six Sigma, 5S, Lean, and Design for Manufacturing
  • Ability to work independently and be an effective team member through collaboration, conflict resolution, encouragement, respectful interactions with co-workers, listening, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in fast-paced environment, pivot based on changing needs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to occasionally lift 60 lbs. to shoulder height
  • Must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing.
  • Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors
