Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Materials Handler Supervisor to oversee daily material handling, inventory control, receiving, storage, and distribution in an aerospace manufacturing setting.

You will ensure accurate receipt and delivery of materials to production, maintain inventory accuracy, and drive continuous improvement. The role requires leadership of a diverse team, strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, and experience with aerospace quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree not required but preferred in SCM, Logistics or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in materials management, warehouse operations, or logistics within manufacturing.
  • Experience supervising or leading a team is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety and 6S initiatives; conduct audits, record management, and training.
  • Supervise material handlers, warehouse personnel, and logistics staff to meet targets.
  • Coordinate receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines and support schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and accuracy via counts and audits.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage transactions and replenishment.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to resolve shortages.
  • Enforce aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure OSHA and environmental compliance.

Position Summary: The Materials Handler Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily material handling, inventory control, receiving, storage, and distribution activities within an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role ensures that materials and components are accurately received, stored, issued, and delivered to production areas in support of manufacturing schedules while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Safety and 6S initiatives to ensure compliance to all PCC safety standards; including but not limited to leading 6S audits, record management and training
  • Supervise and lead a team of material handlers, warehouse personnel, and logistics staff; drive optimal performance from team to meet daily/weekly/monthly performance targets
  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines to support manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory transactions, material movements, and replenishment activities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to resolve material shortages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Enforce aerospace quality standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Analyze workflow processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate employees on performance, safety procedures, and best practices; develop and maintain all training and work instructions.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, shipping errors, inventory variances, and material handling concerns.
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to inventory accuracy, productivity, and material flow performance.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–7 years of experience in materials management, warehouse operations, or logistics within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
  • Aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, or similar platforms.
  • Forklift certification and material handling equipment experience preferred.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $87500 to $131,300 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
