Job summary

Lear Corporation in Auburn Hills, Michigan, seeks a Materials Planner to manage weekly and daily MRP, coordinate with suppliers for on-time parts delivery, and analyze daily releases. You will participate in BOM audits, engineering change meetings, and inventory activities while maintaining material master records and cycle counts.

This onsite role supports a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of materials planning, production scheduling, logistics, inventory control, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of inventory management principles and production scheduling.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify material shortages, excess inventory, and schedule risks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with production, purchasing, customer service, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Weekly and Daily MRP.
  • Work with Suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts.
  • Review/analyze daily releases to the supply base.
  • Reconcile supplier accums to ensure proper releasing (daily and weekly release).
  • Maintain evidence of supplier delivery performance and update supplier rating system.
  • Participate in all plant inventories.
  • Follow IATF16949 quality policies, procedures, and work instructions related to the Material Department.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives for the department/plant.
  • Follow all engineering changes notices through the system.
  • Responsible for tracking all incoming material.
  • Coordinate break points to entire plant when a new part or revision level is introduced.
  • Participate in BOM audits and tear downs for the plant.
  • Participate in all GM Engineering Change Control Meetings for programs.
  • Meet LPA and 5S assignments as scheduled.
  • Maintain material master and PSA for assigned parts.
  • Maintain in transit for all assigned parts.
  • Cycle counting according to schedule and log results per LEAP.
  • Identify and reconcile obsolete parts.
  • Onsite role.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MATERIALS PLANNER

AUBURN HILLS, MICHIGAN - ORION

As a member of the Materials team, the Materials Planner will be responsible for:

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform Weekly and Daily MRP.
  • Work with Suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts
  • Review/analyze both daily releases to the supply base
  • Reconciles Supplier accums to ensure proper releasing (daily and weekly release).
  • Maintains evidence of supplier delivery performance and updates to supplier rating system by communicating issues to the Supplier Quality Engineer.
  • Mandatory participation in all plant inventories.
  • Follows the IATF16949 quality policies, procedures and work instructions related to the Material Department.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement and cost saving initiatives for the department/plant through freight savings and other.
  • Follow all engineering changes notices through the system
  • Responsible tracking all incoming material
  • Responsible for coordinating break points to entire plant when a new part or revision level is introduced to plant
  • Participate in BOM audits and tear downs for the plant.
  • Participates in all GM Engineering Change Control Meetings for all program responsible for
  • Meet LPA and 5S assignments as scheduled consistently.

  • Responsible for maintaining the in transit for all assigned parts

  • Responsible for logging all cycle counts into the cycle count log per LEAP requirement
  • Responsible for identification and reconciliation of all part building out and or obsolete
