Job summary

Lifework Search is assisting a 100+ year-old Consumer Packaged Goods company in finding a Materials Supply Planner. This contract role in Waltham, MA is hybrid (3 days on-site weekly) and targets someone with strong supply chain planning experience in high-volume environments.

Responsibilities include ensuring material availability, managing orders to receipt, reducing waste, and communicating with factories and suppliers to protect financial performance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of supply chain planning experience.
• Experience with high-volume retail / consumer goods supply chains.
• Proficient with Infor M3 and MS Excel.

Company Description:

We are currently working with a 100+ year-old Consumer Packaged Goods organization that is in the middle of a supply chain planning system transformation. To help ensure on-going success, they are looking for an experienced Material Supply Planner to backfill a team member that’s on the project. This is a contract position that will last at least 4-6 months.

Position Description:

• Ensure ingredients, packaging, and other materials are available for production, and maintain healthy inventory levels while minimizing waste.
• Manage the supply chain from placement of purchase- or production orders to goods receipt, ensuring product is available to meet customer demand.
• Identify excess, obsolete and discontinued inventory issues.
• Drive inventory planning enhancements to minimize operational constraints.
• Direct communication with internal factories and suppliers.
• Protect the financial performance of the strategic business unit by identifying potential supply chain issues.

Background Required:

• Highly energetic individual with at least 3-5 years of supply chain planning experience.
• Experience with high-volume retail / consumer goods supply chains.
• Effective use of supply chain planning / MRP applications (ideally Infor M3) and MS Excel.
• Proven track record of success in similar role.
