Job summary

Actalent in Woburn, MA seeks a proven purchasing and supply chain professional to support production planning and procurement activity. You will execute POs, manage MRP requirements, and partner with planning, warehousing and manufacturing to optimize material flow.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, Kanban/VMI adoption, and participation in Kaizen events. Onsite, contract-to-hire, with competitive hourly compensation and benefits for eligible roles.

Qualifications

• MRP planning and purchasing to support production activities.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering or related field.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge; CSCP/CPIM certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily Gemba walks and production meetings.
• Review MRP requirements and execute purchase orders/releases.
• Release material to manufacturing based on planning data.
• Assist with expedited POs and expedite report updates.
• Collaborate with planning, purchasing, warehousing and manufacturing.
• Implement visual ordering systems (VMI/Kanban) where practical.
• Contribute to Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping and root-cause analysis.
• Perform other duties to support Operations and Supply Chain.

Description

Actively participate as a key member of the Operations & Supply Chain Team including daily Gemba walks and production meetings.

Review detailed MRP requirements and execute purchase orders and purchase order releases to support the production plan

Review detailed MRP planning data to assess material clear requirements for work orders and release to manufacturing.

Assist with expedited POs and expedite report updates with suppliers as required.

Work closely with planning, purchasing, warehouse, and manufacturing staff to drive continuous improvement initiatives

Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement other visual ordering systems(VMI or Kanban) where practical.

Participate in Kaizen events / projects, Value Stream Mapping, and root cause analysis techniques.

Perform other duties to support Operations and Supply Chain as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woburn, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
