Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Materials Planner to coordinate BOM reviews, daily counts, and production orders across multiple lines. You will monitor inventory, drive material availability, and support purchasing with critical parts communication.

Responsibilities include converting planned orders to production orders, managing shortages, and maintaining accurate warehouse and line data in AS400, with overtime as needed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass PIV (power industrial vehicle) training.
• Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Good people skills.
• Ability to learn and run required computer applications.
• Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
• Ability to understand engineering specs, Change Orders, and SOPs.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, enter, and manage daily production picks.
• Review BOMs to ensure material availability for production.
• Pull the schedule and run the PIKs based on the schedule utilizing PLR 100 in AS400.
• Send daily critical parts reports to purchasing.
• Email PIK to material coordinator to print and distribute to the team.
• Enter MSR/CCR for product issues on lines.
• Identify and report issues with TRS structure.
• Enter non-conforming tags, scrap tags, and RTW.
• Locate missing material on lines and verify inventory levels across locations.
• Investigate and resolve negative inventory issues.
• Perform daily soft counts and correct discrepancies.
• Walk lines to identify excess materials and coordinate returns.
• Convert released planned orders for production.
• Monitor planner by closing/deleting/releases.
• Address shortages by coordinating with production, purchasing, planners.
