Job summary

Stellant Systems, Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a Material Planner to ensure material availability for production, manage material requirements, and optimize inventory to support customer commitments and on-time delivery.

You will coordinate MRP with production schedules, monitor material flow, review BOMs, analyze demand trends, and collaborate with purchasing, program managers, and quality teams to reduce shortages and excess.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of prior experience or 4 years of prior experience in lieu of education.
• Manufacturing or production support experience is required.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to align with production schedules and demand.
• Monitor and manage material flow through the supply chain to ensure timely availability for manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Receiving, and Stockroom to resolve material issues and support schedule attainment.
• Review BOMs for structure, accuracy, and planning parameters; recommend adjustments as needed.
• Track shortages and excess materials and work with Purchasing to expedite orders or mitigate risks.
• Monitor supplier delivery dates and resolve delays with procurement.
• Support contracts and projects by managing material readiness and planning activities.
• Provide regular reporting on material status, shortages, and risks to internal stakeholders.
• Analyze demand and historical usage trends to improve forecasting accuracy.
