Job summary

Burkert USA Corp, a leading manufacturer of process measuring and control technology, seeks a material planning specialist to drive SAP-based procurement and production scheduling in Huntersville, NC.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage inventories to meet monthly operations plans, and guide new projects from an MRP standpoint to ensure smooth launches and reliable delivery.

Qualifications

• SAP planning expertise preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in scheduling or production planning in manufacturing.
• APICS certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and solve business problems.

Responsibilities

• Foster material planning discussions with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Engineering, Inside Sales) on status and external purchases.
• Responsible for SAP workflow (indirect procurement of non-inventory goods and services).
• Manage distribution channel procurement, replenishment and delivery reliability.
• Handle stocking agreements and QDP strategies; interpret and communicate impacts to teams.
• Participate in shop floor meetings and obsolescence reviews as needed.
• Maintain product inventory levels to meet monthly operations plan and optimize stock mix.
• Use SAP matching parameters to optimize inventory and service levels.
• Maintain ERP-SAP planning master data impacting planning strategies.
• Provide production order schedules and guidance to manufacturing and assembly areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Foster material planning discussions across a cross-functional team that includes: Production, Quality, Engineering and Inside Sales departments regarding production status, material issues, and external purchases status.
• Responsible for SAP workflow (indirect procurement of Systemhause non-inventory goods and services)
• Responsible for distribution channel procurement, replenishment and delivery reliability
• Responsible for stocking agreements, QDP strategies where applicable - includes interpreting stocking agreement, managing stock level, communicating concerns / updates to cross functional teams
• Participation in team shop floor meetings (SI06 boards), slow moving obsolescence reviews and other meetings as necessary
• Manage product inventory levels to meet monthly operations plan, balance inventory mix to ensure desired resource levels are maintained. Utilize SAP matching parameters process to optimize inventory and service levels.
• Manage relevant master data elements in place for ERP-SAP planning that impact planning strategies.
• Provide production order schedules and guidance to manufacturing and assembly areas to ensure clarity of requirements.
• Help guide new projects (CPOH) from a MRP standpoint to ensure proper launch and effectiveness as it transfers to RSOH

REQUIREMENTS:

• SAP planning expertise is preferred
• Minimum 3 years in scheduling or production planning, demand planning, in manufacturing environment and/or manufacturing/engineering experience
• APICs certified is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to use analytical tools to solve business problems
• Proven ability to work with, and communicate to, all levels of the business (manufacturing, customer service, etc)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and execute to deadlines
• Have the ability to follow projects through to completion
• Excellent oral, written and communication skills
• Able to work closely within a team and contribute individually in high pressure situations
