Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Operator for a fixed-term contract up to 24 months. You will work 37.5 hours per week on rotating shifts—mornings or afternoons—on-site at our facility.

You will report hazards, follow health and safety standards, and participate in quality assurance while supporting production targets. Responsibilities include operating equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and collaborating with the Materials team to ensure efficient, uninterrupted operations.

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate safety focus and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Attention to detail to ensure quality and prevent downtime.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and equipment is a plus.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Able to work 37.5 hours weekly on rotating shifts.

Job description

This is a fixed term contract up to 24 months, with the potential for a permanent contract.

Working 37.5 hours per week on a weekly rotating shift pattern of:

  • Mornings: Monday to Friday 6.30am – 2.30pm
  • Afternoons: Monday to Friday 3.00pm – 11.00pm

  • Attention to Detail: Follow procedures meticulously to ensure quality and accuracy, quickly identify and address quality issues, and minimize downtime.
  • Although not required as training will be provided, candidates with experience operating any PIV help to contribute to a safe, more efficient and productive workplace.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously follow procedures and specifications to ensure quality and accuracy in handling and delivering material and components to the production lines. Ability to identify quality issues and or incorrect parts, to quickly minimize production downtime.
  • Time Keeping: Delivering material in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and keeping the production line running smoothly.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively within the Materials team and across departments. Communicate clearly about processes, issues, and safety concerns.
  • PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Experience.
