Qualifications

  • Experience operating CNC machines in automotive/engineering preferred; training provided.

  • Operate CNC machines and production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Meet production targets and adhere to quality specifications.
  • Maintain equipment, keep area clean, and report hazards promptly.
  • Follow SPC and quality control processes to minimize costs.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Operator to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Blockline Support Team in Daventry, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom .

Job Description:

Operates machines and production equipment in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment with limited guidance.

Working 37.5 hours per week on a 2-shift rotating pattern of:

Mornings: Monday to Friday 7.00am – 3.00pm

Afternoons: Monday to Friday 3.00pm – 11.00pm

Successful applicants will need to be able to work both shift rotations.

This role is a temporary contract for up to 24 months, with the potential for extension or longer-term opportunities depending on performance and business needs

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Operating advanced CNC machines to craft high-precision cylinder blocks, ensuring quality and adherence to detailed specifications.
  • Working to production targets and cycle times.
  • Demonstrating expertise in manual and automated systems to support production requirements.
  • Maintaining both quality and safety standards.
  • Communicating effectively with your team and support staff to enhance teamwork and productivity.
  • Following quality control processes such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) to manage quality and minimise production costs.
  • Adhering to HSE standards and promptly reporting hazards to help maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keeping your work area clean and performing routine maintenance to ensure the reliability of equipment and seamless operations.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in quality, safety and efficiency to support continuous improvement.

Education/ Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with strong skills in mathematics and technical knowledge.
  • Vocational or technical training in CNC machining or engineering is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in operating CNC machines in the automotive or engineering fields is preferred, but training is provided .
  • Comfortable with PCs or handheld terminals, ensuring effective use of quality standards and safety practices.
