Magna Seating is seeking a Materials Supervisor to lead the Materials Department at the Detroit facility. You will direct Team Leaders, Sequencer/Tuggers, and Forklift Drivers, coordinating inbound and outbound material flows in a JIT manufacturing setting.

The role requires 2–5 years in materials leadership, and a valid PIT permit. Strong communication, leadership, and OSHA‑compliant practices are essential for success. Regular hours with potential overtime and weekend shifts may apply.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Powered Industrial Truck Permit (requires a passing score on the Powered Industrial Truck training tests administered by Magna Seating Detroit)
• Minimum of two (2) years of materials supervisory experience or a minimum of five (5) years of materials team leadership experience in a tier-one automotive manufacturing facility.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines; proficient with MS Office and manufacturing software.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises daily activities of the Materials department’s Team Leaders, Sequencer/Tuggers, and Forklift Truck Drivers.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates all inbound, outbound movement of material within the JIT manufacturing facility.
• Assists in determining manpower requirements and manages material cycle counts and annual inventory reconciliation.
• Leads process improvement projects focusing on productivity, quality, ergonomics; ensures standard work and rotation schedules are followed.
• Monitors attendance and time-off policies; records time and ensures timely processing of requests.
• Provides timely feedback on performance, safety, quality, attendance, and teamwork; supports performance reviews.
