Job description

While reporting to the Category Manager, you will be responsible for daily management of steel procurement activities through regular communication with steel suppliers, Supply Chain group, and Procurement colleagues.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  1. Coordinate with Steel Procurement management and Supply Chain group to execute monthly steel purchasing plan.
  2. Populate and submit steel purchase orders.
  3. Maintain steel cost database.
  4. Assist in resolving discrepancies between internal and supplier accounting groups.
  5. Coordinate metal delivery into manufacturing plants.
  6. Track supplier delivery delays, quantify supplier delivery performance, and update Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system on a regular basis.
  7. Coordinate expediting of orders as needed based on supplier performance and/or changing demand.
  8. Work with manufacturing plants to promote FIFO inventory management and minimize inventory levels.
  9. Identify and assist in repurposing slow moving, aged, and/or surplus inventories.

This is a hybrid position located in Broomfield, CO.

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Basic mathematical skills.
  3. Ability to understand and comprehend technical data.
  4. Ability to analyze MRP reporting, experience with QAD and/or Oracle.
  5. Experience using purchasing systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  6. Experience with QAD and/or Oracle beneficial.
  7. Broad training in a related field acquired through an Associate Degree or equivalent work experience.
  8. Bachelor of Science is preferred.
  9. 1-3 years of purchasing or related experience with sound business experience required.

Compensation:

  1. The annual base salary range for this role is from $80,320 to $90,360.
