Job summary

Hubbell Ripley Tools in Cromwell, CT seeks a Materials Manager to lead a fast-paced manufacturing team and own end-to-end materials strategy. You will influence cross-functional decisions, improve systems, and drive operational excellence and customer success.

You will manage planning, procurement, inventory, and supplier performance while championing Lean Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and enable scalable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
• Experience leading materials management or supply chain teams in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems with SAP preferred.
• Proven track record of improving inventory, planning, and supplier performance.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of planners and buyers.
• Own materials management strategy for Ripley Tools.
• Drive optimization across materials functions: planning, procurement, inventory, warehousing.
• Champion SIOP processes for alignment and on-time delivery.
• Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Quality, Finance, and Operations.
• Identify gaps and implement data-driven countermeasures.
• Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Build and execute sourcing and planning strategies.
