Job summary

Regal Rexnord's Florence plant seeks a Materials Manager II to coordinate supply chain strategy and lead a multi-function materials team. You will optimize inventory, plan and forecast needs, manage suppliers, and drive improvements in delivery and working capital while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Customer Care to build a high-performing materials organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, purchasing, inventory planning, scheduling, or logistics within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing planning, purchasing, or materials teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading supplier management, inventory optimization, forecasting, and SIOP processes.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, including Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), purchasing, inventory management, and scheduling functionality.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing working capital, inventory investment, forecasting, and business case development.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions using incomplete information.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of Planning, Purchasing, Scheduling, Inventory, Receiving, Shipping, and Logistics professionals to define and execute the site's materials strategy.
  • Owns the materials portion of the SIOP process including supply planning, capacity planning, materials availability, inventory forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Drives alignment between customer demand, production schedules, and supplier capabilities to ensure on-time delivery and efficient inventory utilization.
  • Leads forecasting and order fulfillment activities to ensure customer requirements are met while optimizing working capital.
  • Develops and maintains strong supplier relationships while leading escalation efforts and corrective action plans for supplier delivery, quality, and capacity issues.
  • Leads sourcing and supplier development activities in partnership with Corporate Sourcing and Category Management teams.
  • Implements, manages, and continuously improves all processes related to procurement, planning, scheduling, inventory management, receiving, warehousing, shipping, logistics, forecasting, and demand management.
  • Leads structured problem solving using Regal Rexnord Business System (RBS) principles and drives root cause corrective action throughout the organization.

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Position Overview:

The Materials Manager II is the primary point of coordination and interface within the supply chain and operations organizations at the Florence plant. This senior leadership role is responsible for providing comprehensive supply chain strategy, process leadership, and tactical execution to optimize inventory, material flow, supplier performance, and customer delivery. The role leads all aspects of materials management including planning, purchasing, inventory control, scheduling, logistics, supplier management, and forecasting. This position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Customer Care, and Corporate Supply Chain teams to drive performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash flow while building scalable processes and developing a high-performing materials organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team of Planning, Purchasing, Scheduling, Inventory, Receiving, Shipping, and Logistics professionals to define and execute the site's materials strategy.
  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory performance, including availability, inventory value, inventory accuracy, excess and obsolete inventory, turns, and days on hand.
  • Establishes and manages inventory strategies, replenishment methodologies, safety stock levels, and planning parameters for all purchased and manufactured components.
  • Owns the materials portion of the SIOP process including supply planning, capacity planning, materials availability, inventory forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Supports the Operations Manager in assessing supply chain risks and implementing countermeasures to achieve operational and financial objectives.
  • Drives alignment between customer demand, production schedules, and supplier capabilities to ensure on-time delivery and efficient inventory utilization.
  • Leads forecasting and order fulfillment activities to ensure customer requirements are met while optimizing working capital.
  • Develops and maintains strong supplier relationships while leading escalation efforts and corrective action plans for supplier delivery, quality, and capacity issues.
  • Leads sourcing and supplier development activities in partnership with Corporate Sourcing and Category Management teams.
  • Improves ERP effectiveness by ensuring master data integrity and proper planning parameters to drive automation and planning accuracy.
  • Establishes and improves processes to enhance customer commit dates, available-to-promise accuracy, and overall supply chain visibility.
  • Leads physical inventory counts, cycle count programs, and initiatives to improve overall inventory accuracy.
  • Implements, manages, and continuously improves all processes related to procurement, planning, scheduling, inventory management, receiving, warehousing, shipping, logistics, forecasting, and demand management.
  • Leads structured problem solving using Regal Rexnord Business System (RBS) principles and drives root cause corrective action throughout the organization.
  • Establishes, deploys, and monitors standard work, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Partners with Finance to improve working capital performance, inventory productivity, and cash flow.
  • Develops and leads a high-performing materials organization through hiring, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, performance management, and employee development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting engineered-to-order (ETO), make-to-order (MTO), assembly-to-order (ATO), or mixed manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Oracle experience strongly preferred.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, ISM, CPM, or related professional certification preferred.
