Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC is seeking a senior leader to direct materials planning, supply chain strategy, and international logistics operations to fuel uninterrupted manufacturing production and drive cost-effective inventory control. Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Minimum 5+ years in materials management and logistics with a Bachelor's degree in a related field

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field.
• 2-5 years of supply chain and logistics experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing domestic and international freight and import/export logistics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute material planning strategies to optimize inventory stock levels and cycle count accuracy.
• Oversee inbound and outbound domestic freight and international import/export operations, ensuring customs compliance.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers and brokers to reduce total supply chain costs.
• Direct warehouse receiving, storage, and material handling with strict safety adherence.
• Coach and mentor materials, inventory, and logistics staff to boost productivity.
• Support ERP system enhancements and data-driven process improvements for on-time delivery.

Competitive Compensation: $100,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Plan & Control: Develop and execute material planning strategies to optimize inventory stock levels, minimize excess, and lead cycle count accuracy programs.
• Manage Logistics: Oversee inbound and outbound domestic freight while directing international import/export operations and ensuring customs trade compliance.
• Optimize Costs: Partner with carriers, customs brokers, and suppliers to negotiate freight rates, resolve shipping disruptions, and reduce total supply chain expenses.
• Lead Operations: Direct warehouse receiving, storage, and material handling functions while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards and regulations.
• Coach & Develop: Supervise, mentor, and set performance goals for materials, inventory, and logistics staff to foster high team productivity.
• Drive Improvement: Support ERP system enhancements and implement data-driven process improvements to streamline operational efficiency and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Industry Experience: 2-5 years of supply chain and logistics experience within a manufacturing environment.
• International Freight: Proven experience managing both domestic transportation and international import/export logistics operations.
• Leadership: Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or departmental management role.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, advanced Microsoft Excel, and supply chain reporting tools.
