Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Materials Manager to expand inventory and kitting operations across multiple facilities in El Segundo and other sites. The role backs the Logistics Manager for inbound and outbound transportation scheduling and coordination in a fast-paced start-up environment.

You will optimize material flow, manage lifecycle from receipt, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to scale with production growth.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of logistics, material movement, inventory management and expediting experience.
• Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation Management or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience operating forklift is a plus.

About this Role

The Materials Manager will primarily support the expansion of inventory and kitting operations to new Varda locations and will also be a secondary backup to the Logistics Manager for inbound and outbound transportation scheduling and coordination. An individual who can thrive in a startup environment, implement process improvements, and support growth into multiple buildings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor material movements and process flow in the shop
• Properly move material to/from receiving and production
• Develop scaling plans for material movement with multiple buildings
• Manage lifecycle of material from point of receipt
• Advise on supply chain material design, focusing on inventory optimization and strategic material movement cost-savings opportunities
• Design and manage a program that scales with the growth of the production volume and supply base
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments
• Move material around the factory or to alternate sites
• Properly store material in inventory
• Prepare kits of materials requested within ERP system
• Monitor inventory shelf life and stock levels
• Perform inventory counts

Basic Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft office and ERP systems or equivalent software
• 3-5 + years of experience with logistics , material movement , i nventory m anagement, and expediting

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation Management, or equivalent experience
• Experience operating a forklift
• Logistics experience across multi-site operations, including outbound and inbound international shipping
• HazMat Certification (DOT, IATA, IMDG, Lithium Ion Battery)
• Experience in Aerospace or similar fast paced industry
• Ability to communicate effectively with external suppliers and internal employees
• Demonstrates organizational excellence

Pay Range

• Salary range: $92,820-$125,580/per year
• Leveling and base salary is determined by job-related skills, education level, experience level, and job performance
• You will be eligible for incentives in the form of stock options and/or long-term cash awards
