Job summary

ARCH Medical Solutions – Lehigh Valley is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of raw materials and products to meet company goals.

You will coordinate with quality, engineering, production, and customer service to ensure on-time delivery, manage materials, and verify certifications to align with specifications and manufacturing routes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; physically capable for warehouse tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with quality, engineering, production, and customer service to ensure on-time delivery.
• Manage incoming and outgoing materials.
• Verify raw material certifications meet specifications.
• Identify and release raw materials and components for assemblies.
• Develop and implement inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control methods.
• Build relationships with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Ensure accuracy of inventory counts with finance; guard against discrepancies.
• Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.

Education

Description

Position Overview

The Materials Manager is responsible for planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of raw materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and work with quality, engineering, production, and customer service to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues.


• Manage incoming and outgoing materials.


• Verify the raw material certifications to ensure that they meet all of the chemical and physical analysis requirements of the specifications referenced in the raw material purchase order as well as those referenced on the manufacturing route sheet.


• Identify and release the raw material and products/components for assemblies in accordance with our internal procedures.


• Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.


• Identify, develop and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality and delivery targets.


• Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, in conjunction with Finance, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.


• Adhere to established company policies, procedures, terms and conditions and legal matters that affect purchasing policies.


• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Business or Supply Chain Management


• 1-2 years’ experience material planning and purchasing


• Certified on sit-down forklift preferred


• Computer proficiency with basic understanding of MS Office and ERP systems


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.


• Good analytical and problem solving ability


• Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills


• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when requested.


• Understanding of basic measuring tools such as micrometers, Vernier’s, etc are required.


• Experience in the review of raw material or process certifications and should be able to interpret the chemical and physical range requirements that are commonly expressed in decimal format on material certifications.


• High attention to detail is required.


• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.


• Self-starter, able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplined team.


• Team oriented and ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels.


• ISO regulations experience preferred (ISO 9001 and AS9100)
