Job summary

USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital is seeking a Distribution Clerk to manage stocking, replenishment, shipping/receiving, and inventory control on daily shifts. You will ensure accurate labeling, track replenishment, and assist with dispatches and deliveries in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining storeroom security, processing requisitions, and supporting code blue preparedness while delivering timely patient-related materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Materials Management, shipping and Receiving or Central Supply/distribution environment required (6 months).
• Prefer 1 year experience in Materials Management, shipping and Receiving or Central Supply/distribution.
• Capable of performing repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
• Must be highly ethical and reliable.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of all medical supplies utilized within the warehouse.
• Knowledge of sterile technique as it applies to supply distribution.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment to move boxes, equipment and other items.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Computer literacy preferred.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Replenish supply locations accurately by stocking supplies in the appropriate bins.
• All replenishment and delivery must be completed at assigned times and per department procedures.
• Assist with the placement of incoming and non-m medical supplies in appropriate stock locations by assigned time.
• All stocking is completed by end of the day.
• Fills and delivers departmental requisitions per schedule assigned.
• Assist with deliveries, stocking warehouse shelves and emptying boxes.
• Input issues to the system accurately and in a timely manner per documented daily schedule.
• Ensure storeroom and par locations are secured properly to make sure security measures are enforced.
• Maintain and check expiration on a supply location as assigned, at least monthly.
• Maintain clean supply locations that includes bins, items & carts and check accurate label information.
• Perform inventory count at each supply location at designated times during shift.
• Compile and batch patient charges before end of each shift and send to business office.
• Set up crash carts on each shift as needed, maintaining a minimum of five available crash carts.
• Comply with policy relating to expired products on crash carts.
• Respond immediately to code blue and bring complete crash carts to the location needed.
• Respond to call downs, prioritizing as necessary, within 15 minutes of request.
• Receive all incoming materials, supplies and equipment per policy when daily shipping/receiving.
• Ensure incoming freight matches manifest and record discrepancies.
• Inspect shipments for damages or defects and record findings.
• Coordinate outgoing freight for shipment.
• Label, weigh, prepare bill of lading and record in manifests.
• Receive, record, deliver priority freight and refrigerated/frozen within four hours; regular freight within 24 hours; obtain signature.
• Follow hospital safety measures while operating facility equipment.
• Maintain clean work areas and storerooms; dispose of empty boxes.
• Complete projects and duties as directed by management.
