Job summary

Alcoa is seeking a Massena-based Materials & Maintenance Expeditor to ensure critical materials are available for maintenance and operations. You will link maintenance, procurement, storeroom, and suppliers to keep work moving, expediting POs and tracking deliveries.

The role requires strong organizational skills, ERP/CMMS proficiency, and collaborative problem-solving across teams to minimize downtime and optimize inventory levels.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in supply chain, procurement, maintenance, or related field is an asset.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, inventory control, and materials management.
  • Proficiency with ERP, procurement, inventory, and CMMS systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across maintenance, procurement, storeroom, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Expedite purchase orders and deliveries to support maintenance and operational requirements.
  • Monitor material status and proactively communicate delays, shortages, risks, and supply chain disruptions to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, procurement teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery commitments and material availability.
  • Track critical and emergency orders to support uninterrupted operations and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain visibility of open purchase orders, delivery schedules, and material status within procurement and maintenance systems.
  • Partner with maintenance planners and supervisors to identify, source, and prioritize materials required for upcoming work and urgent needs.
  • Verify material availability and coordinate material staging for scheduled maintenance, outages, and shutdowns.
  • Resolve material-related constraints, order discrepancies, shipping issues, and invoicing concerns that impact work execution.
  • Support inventory management activities, including cycle counts, stock record maintenance, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Identify stock-outs, obsolete inventory, and opportunities to optimize inventory levels and material availability.
  • Monitor critical spare parts inventories to ensure operational readiness.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while managing quotations, lead times, shipments, and delivery performance.
  • Generate reports on purchase orders, open orders, and material availability to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance material management, inventory control, and supply chain processes.

Join our Massena team as a Materials & Maintenance Expeditor and play a fundamental role in supporting reliable and efficient operations. You'll serve as the link between maintenance, procurement, storeroom, and supplier teams, ensuring critical materials are available when and where they are needed. Your ability to proactively resolve material-related challenges and maintain stakeholder relationships will be key to supporting maintenance execution and operational success.

About the Role

What you can bring to this role

Base Salary: 76,700 - 115,400 USD annually

Total rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package. Alcoa reserves the right to change plans at its discretion.
