Job summary

Keel, a leading manufacturer in the U.S. South, seeks a Material Handler to support material flow, maintain accurate records, and minimize downtime through timely movement of parts and assemblies.

You will review schedules with department supervisors, track overdue materials, and assist with material requisitions and delivery coordination, while gaining exposure to ERP systems and 5S/measurement practices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
• ERP exposure preferred.
• Basic problem‑solving and math skills.
• Willingness to learn 5S, inventory standards, and measurement tools.
• Basic understanding of metric and imperial measurements.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments according to production and shipping schedules.
• Maintains accurate records and assists in minimizing downtime by ensuring timely material movement.
• Reviews production schedules and works with department supervisors to identify basic material requirements.
• Assists with tracking overdue materials and updating material status.
• Supports the requisition of materials and helps coordinate delivery dates.
• Verifies material conformance to specifications under guidance.
• Assists with kitting materials for production needs.
• Computes simple material requirements using established tools and instructions.
• Maintains manual or computerized records for material inventory and in-process reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
