Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a laboratory technician to turn field samples into numbers through Proctor curves, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, moisture contents, and compressive strength tests. You'll work inside a documented quality system with calibrated equipment and accountability for every result.

Your week includes logging samples, breaking cylinders, and supporting proficiency programs and accreditation assessments, with pay between $25 and $35 per hour, mostly daytime

Qualifications

• Careful hands with clean documentation habits.
• Prior lab or CMT experience a plus, but training is provided.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work done right every time.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM testing (D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, C39).
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results the same day.
• Support proficiency programs and accreditation assessments.
