Job summary

City Utilities of Springfield is seeking a Material Technician to receive, store, issue, deliver, and track materials and supplies at our facility. You will enter transactions into computer systems, perform cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records to support operations across the power station.

Responsibilities include inspecting shipments, coordinating with teams, and handling hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college courses preferred.
• At least 1 year of material handling experience with a fully integrated materials management system.
• Experience with warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, and cycle counts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records and reports of all material transactions using manual and computer systems.
• Inspect incoming materials for quantity and specification accuracy against purchase orders.
• Operate and communicate via email and phone to coordinate material movements.
• Keep inventory in a neat, orderly condition and perform maintenance on stock and equipment.
• Pack, load, and prepare shipments of materials, including hazardous materials, per regulations.
