Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Stores Attendant B to assist the Material Services organization with material accountability, storeroom operations, and storage yard management. The role is entry-level and includes training under supervision to independently perform duties over time.

Typical tasks include issuing materials, inspecting received items, maintaining inventory levels, and handling shipping paperwork. Proficiency with Maximo, Excel, and basic math is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent education (GED).
• Sound mathematical ability and basic computer literacy.
• Experience in inventory control, warehousing, or material handling.

Responsibilities

• Issue material under proper authorization and process related records.
• Check received material for quantity, identity, breakage, and condition.
• Operate material handling equipment as required (lift trucks, hand trucks, etc.).
• Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage, including shipping papers.
